Granada to Valencia
On our last afternoon in Granada, we walked down from Sacromonte and did a little wandering in the colorful markets around Granada Cathedral. We didn’t stay long; I was tired, and it was a long climb back up to the Alhambra.

Later that evening, we walked back to the city center for dinner, catching the last of the sunset on the way down the hill. I imagine the Alhambra probably looked beautiful in that light, if we could have seen it from afar instead of being right in it. (After dinner, we took a taxi back up to the parador. I was tired of the uphill climb!)

The next morning, we rose early, trying not to think about how the clocks had “sprung forward.” We had decided to take the bus to Valencia, as the train was more complicated and expensive. It was a long trip (seven hours), and we had to change buses in Murcia. But it was comfortable enough, and there was wonderful scenery along the way - mountains, olive orchards, walled cities on hills, and a palm tree forest. Our next adventure would be on the east coast of Spain, in a big city on the Mediterranean Sea.
