Nafplio Farmers Market
The Farmers Market in Nafplio is a pop-up open-air market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The stalls are set up along Martiou Street, on the side with the green space, facing the big hill. There are a few stalls with fresh fish, and others with olives, honey, wine, and dried herbs. The star of the show is fresh produce - endless stalls of fruits and vegetables from the surrounding Argolis countryside.

At the far end of the market, after all the produce and foodstuffs, are more stalls with clothing, kitchenware, and hardware.
There’s nothing fancy in the presentation here - the vendors pile their produce on tables, and the locals shop. In our experience, most vendors speak English, and the few that don’t simply use their fingers or pull out their own coins to show us the price. It’s nice to have lower prices and wider selection than the grocery store.
Steve made some delicious dishes with fresh produce from the Farmers Market, such as watermelon salad and briami (baked vegetables, sort of a Greek version of ratatouille).
