Planning Our Epic Road Trip

It started with a germ of an idea in fall of 2020: Let's spend next summer somewhere else, away from Florida's heat and humidity. We both work remotely, so it could be a "work-cation."

During the ensuing months, the more we talked about the idea, the bigger it grew. Why rush back to Tampa at the end of the summer? Why not sell our house and just hit the road in our little convertible? (Steve just loves to drive that Z4...)

In January we drove Amy back to school in NC, and on the 11-hour drive home, we made a big list of things we needed to do, and places we wanted to go. At home, Steve wasted no time and started checking things off the list. I started researching rentals and realized how much I had missed travel planning during the past year.

What started as a little summer break became an Epic Road Trip. Voila!

It's still evolving, and we don't know if we'll be able to go to Canada, but this is where we plan to be over the next six months. (I'm using a great app called Roadtrippers.)
