All That Jazz
New Orleans is not just the Birthplace of Jazz; it’s a city that lives and breathes jazz. Every walk through the French Quarter or along Frenchmen Street involved coming across some good music. It’s all free - just remember to tip the band.
Even in the Lower Garden District, in a moment of true serendipity, we were treated to a second line dancing past our balcony!
There were also plenty of music events scheduled in various parts of the city. With just a bit of advance planning, we could walk to see more great jazz.
Our favorite musical experience was dinner at the Palm Court Jazz Cafe, where we had a choice table up front and a wonderful evening of outstanding New Orleans jazz.
