Chicago Pride
I love being in Chicago during Pride Month! During June, Chicago publicly celebrates everyone’s right to be who they are and love who they want to love.
The whole city participates. Pride flags fly at City Hall and other downtown hotspots.
At night, the skyline comes alive with colored lights celebrating Pride.
We saw a classical music concert featuring LGBT composers and performers, and the North American premiere of the stage play Brokeback Mountain. Read about these performances HERE.
And it seems the whole city showed up for the Chicago Pride Parade, one of the oldest and most highly-attended Pride parades in the world. There were reportedly one million people in the crowd this year!
It was fun to witness such a grand and joyful event. Perhaps one day we’ll have the chance to see the Pride parades in New York City and San Francisco.
