Epic Road Trip Reprise

In May 2021, we pared down our possessions, sold our house, and became digital nomads. Bringing only what fit in our two-seater convertible, we embarked on an Epic Road Trip, living and working in a new city each month. After 13,000+ miles and seven memorable months, we “landed” back in Tampa in time for Thanksgiving. We rented an apartment in the new Water Street neighborhood and enjoyed being in the middle of Downtown Tampa’s exciting growth.

Now, in February 2024, we are becoming nomads again. We loved our life in Water Street, but adventure calls! So we’re setting forth on another epic road trip. We’re driving the same small car, and will follow the same model of a new city each month. We’ll return to a few of our favorite cities, but this road trip will be longer (at least one year), and there will be many new places to explore. And while Steve is still working remotely for WTW, Maria is now retired from Accenture. Which, in theory, means she’ll have plenty of time to blog about our grand experiment as half-retired, home-free nomads. We’ll see.
