Family Fun 2 - Wine Tasting

It was so nice to have Amy visiting Austin, so we could spend time with both of our kids. On Saturday, we decided to do a tasting at a winery in the Hill Country. (After accidentally visiting a winery a few weeks ago, we wanted to do it right.)

Danny drove us out to Stone House Vineyard, about an hour’s drive from Austin. It was a breezy, sunny day, and we sat outside on a shady patio overlooking the vineyard. We ordered a cheese and charcuterie board to accompany our wine tasting. We tasted a cuvée, a Riesling, a Merlot, a Tempranillo (the signature grape in Texas), and a port. Everything was delicious! Maria especially loved the port, with its chocolatey finish - and the chocolate caramels served with it were a nice bonus. Afterward, we strolled over to the member’s area, which overlooks Lake Travis, before heading home.
