Fun with Friends in Vermont

Hope and Dave drove us from Montreal back to Moretown, Vermont, where Karen and Jimbo had invited all of us for a visit. I was delighted for a chance to spend time hanging out with K&J after the excitement of their son’s wedding.

K&J’s house in Moretown is large and comfortable, and they are very generous hosts. Steve and I have been fortunate to live in this house a couple of times, so every time we visit it feels like coming home.

On our first evening, K&J made a delicious dinner - roasted chicken, roasted vegetables, and killer cocktails!

We spent a leisurely morning enjoying the views from their deck and chatting while we did our puzzles. Karen had thoughtfully put a jigsaw puzzle out for me, and Jimbo showed off one of his new skills - making fancy and delicious cappuccinos.

Our walk through their neighborhood was cut short by a rain shower. So we piled into two cars and went to Montpelier for lunch at Bar Hill, our favorite distillery and cocktail bar. Central Vermont is so beautiful this time of year!

The rest of the day was spent relaxing and playing in K&J’s awesome house, one of the best places in the world to enjoy the company of one’s friends. Karen and Hope and I were college roommates, and I am deeply grateful for our enduring friendship.
