Moving Day: Vermont to NYC

On our last morning at Karen and Jimbo’s awesome house in Moretown, I awoke to this marvelous view!

Hope and Dave were setting out on a road trip: the Finger Lakes in upstate New York, Niagara Falls, and western Pennsylvania. They graciously offered to drive us to Albany, where we could catch a train to New York City. We took a scenic, meandering route through the Green Mountains and then along the Taconic Range, enjoying the colorful fall foliage and bucolic farmland. After 2.5 hours, we reached Albany in plenty of time to catch our train.

The train was surprisingly full, probably with people heading to the Big Apple for the holiday weekend. After an uneventful ride, we checked into the apartment building in the Theater District where we have stayed twice before. We were delighted to find that our corner unit had great views of the Hudson River! It was exciting to be back!
