Moving Day: San Miguel de Allende to Tampa
After a relaxing month in San Miguel de Allende, it was almost time to return to the United States for some health and financial maintenance. There was a nonstop flight from Mexico City to Tampa, and there were some things I wanted to see and do there, so we did our Moving Day in two stages.
The first stage was riding the bus from SMA to CDMX. It was a double-decker bus, with a lavatory on the lower level. We sat on the upper level, in wide, comfortable reclining seats with leg rests. It was quite luxurious compared to buses in the US, and the four-hour ride was uneventful.
After four great days in CDMX, we headed to Mexico International Airport, where preparations were underway for the FIFA World Cup. Security at the CDMX airport was surprisingly quick, and we found seats in a lounge with a view of the tarmac. Our nonstop flight to Tampa was uneventful - and so short (2.5 hrs) that I couldn’t finish my movie.
