Newport Eats

The restaurant food in Newport was excellent, even at the divey bar. And our bed and breakfast had great French toast and omelets. We ate very well! Our favorites:

  • Giusto - We loved the “freestyle Italian” dishes and the al fresco dining room right on the wharf. The tasting menu was delicious and reasonably priced. The ricotta fritelle were crispy outside and light-as-air inside. The freshly made pasta was so good that we ordered a second plate of street corn ravioli in lieu of dessert! It may be worth returning to Newport just to dine here again.

  • Bar ‘Cino - The heirloom tomato salad was fresh and flavorful, and the grilled pizza with roasted local mushrooms was perfectly toasted. We had fun cutting our pizza with the garden shears provided. We were impressed to learn that this restaurant is 100% employee-owned.

  • Fifth Element - Another great pizza, this time with fig, crispy prosciutto, gorgonzola, and fresh arugula. This easy-going place was right near our bed and breakfast and perfect for post-festival dinners.
