New York Part II

We were delighted to have Amy in New York with us during her fall break! We had visited as a family several times, but this time felt special because Times Square was our neighborhood instead of just a vacation spot.

Together, we hit the pavement and explored a couple of places for the first time.

Moynihan Train Hall near Penn Station had a wonderful glass atrium and very cool artwork on the ceiling.

At Hudson Yards, "Vessel" was closed, but quite beautiful to admire from the outside. The mall had over 20 mannequins modeling haute couture made from fresh flowers, moss, and leaves.

We shopped until we nearly dropped, at everything from thrift stores to high-end designer boutiques. We ate very well - pizza at Rubirosa in SOHO, steak at Smith & Wollensky, and cocktails at a speakeasy called Dutch Fred's and at the Broadway Lounge, overlooking Times Square.

And of course, we saw a couple of shows. Amy's roommate Lauren joined us for SIX, a witty rock musical about Henry VIII's ex-wives. It was our first Broadway show since before COVID, and it felt great to be back in a theater again.

We sat in the third row for Little Shop of Horrors, an off-Broadway production starring two of our favorite performers, Jeremy Jordan and Christian Borle. They were so funny! And we were so close!

We were sorry that Amy had to leave, but we know that we'll enjoy reminiscing about this time together in the Big Apple.
