North Carolina Mountains Part I

We just finished our second week of working on the road. I'm writing this in Burnsville, NC, about 30 miles northeast of Asheville, our home base for the rest of the month.

I just love our pretty cabin! There are azaleas blooming out front, and a huge deck out back with stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. I'm sitting with my laptop on the deck right now.

We take a short hike every day after work. Not far from our cabin is a trail leading to a waterfall.

It feels good to have unpacked everything and settled into a routine of working, hiking, cooking, etc. We're excited to go to Winston-Salem tomorrow - we'll help Amy move out of her dorm at Wake Forest and bring her back to the cabin with us. And we're grateful we have the Prius, with a nearly full tank of gas. No pesky gas shortage is going to stop us from reaching our daughter!
