On the Road Again
After nearly 4 weeks in our cozy mountain cabin, it was time to pack up and move out. We have really enjoyed this stay and hope to return next year. On our last daily hike, I stopped to admire some foxglove and Spanish bluebells. And we said goodbye to the geese families. The adults seem to have gotten used to us, as they were no longer hissy, just blasé.

On Thursday afternoon, I was feeling wistful about leaving this lovely place, and a little stressed about some last-minute packing. Then Hope and Dave arrived (they would be spending the long weekend in the cabin), and all was well. They gave us a friendly send-off, and I was smiling as we drove down the mountain.
We stopped in Winston-Salem to help Amy move into a house near campus, where she will be living for the summer and senior year. All three of Amy's housemates were already there, so we know she's going to have a lot of fun in the coming months.
We also left our Prius with Amy. From here on out, we have only what fits in the Z4. That might be a topic for a future post!
Steve and I have 1,900 miles to cover in the next few days, as we relocate from North Carolina to New Mexico. We're looking forward to seeing Danny en route.
